About the Role


As a Preschool Multi-Classroom Teacher at Merryhill School, you will help create a safe, nurturing, and developmentally rich environment for our youngest students. This dynamic position works across multiple preschool classrooms, supporting teachers and engaging students through purposeful play, hands-on learning, and developmentally appropriate activities.
You will provide continuity and stability throughout the school by adapting to the needs of different classrooms and age groups. When a classroom has a vacancy or a teacher is unavailable, you may step into a lead teaching role to maintain established routines and ensure students continue receiving a consistent, high-quality learning experience.
You will also:
• Support multiple preschool classrooms based on daily staffing and program needs
• Implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and learning activities
• Step into a lead teaching role when needed to maintain continuity of instruction and classroom routines
• Foster students’ early literacy, language development, mathematical thinking, motor skills, and social-emotional growth
• Create a warm and engaging classroom environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and confidence
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and school leadership to support program goals and instructional consistency
• Assist with classroom management and provide positive, age-appropriate behavior guidance
• Supervise students and ensure their safety in classrooms, outdoor areas, and other school environments
• Maintain clean, organized, and engaging learning spaces
• Communicate positively and professionally with families, colleagues, and school leadership
• Ensure compliance with health and safety policies, licensing requirements, and developmental standards
• Participate in staff meetings, school events, and professional-development opportunities

What We’re Looking For
• 12 semester units or 18 quarter units in early childhood education, including coursework in child development, child/family/community, and curriculum; or a bachelor’s degree in Child Development
• Child Development Associate (CDA) credential preferred
• Prior experience working with preschool-aged children in an educational setting preferred
• Ability to work effectively across multiple classrooms, age groups, and instructional environments
• Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom-management skills
• Patience, adaptability, compassion, and a genuine enthusiasm for working with young children
• Ability to support a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment
• Ability to meet the physical demands of working with young children, including sitting on the floor, bending, lifting, and participating in active play
• Ability to successfully complete all required background-check and state-licensing requirements
