About the Role:
Join our team as a Music Teacher, where you will engage elementary students at our Stratford School in Mission Viejo! You will play a vital role in cultivating students’ appreciation for music and helping them develop foundational skills in both instrumental and vocal performance.
Salary Range: $60,000-$70,000
Location: Mission Viejo, CA

Responsibilities:
• Deliver engaging, age-appropriate music lessons across grade levels
• Incorporate the piano as the primary instrument of instruction, while integrating a variety of other instruments
• Teach music reading skills, transposition techniques, and basic music composition
• Instruct students in basic vocal techniques, including diaphragmatic breathing, pitch, diction, harmony, and scale work
• Foster a positive classroom environment
• Collaborate with faculty to support interdisciplinary learning opportunities
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and growth
• Maintain a vibrant, organized classroom conducive to active participation
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or related field from an accredited college or university
• Proficiency in piano, with the ability to teach and accompany students
• Strong music sight-reading and transposition skills
• Experience composing original music is a plus
• Ability to teach fundamental vocal techniques and group singing
• Prior experience teaching or working with children in an educational setting is preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage students, parents, and colleagues
