Additionally, as an 8th-grade teacher, you will be an important participant in the high school application process, including writing high school recommendations.<br><br>Position Type: Full-Time (10-month on-site)<br>Pay Range: $70,000 - $80,000<br>Sign-on Bonus: $2,500 bonus for new hire upon completion of 90 days in position<br>Location: 75 Francis Street, San Francisco, CA 95112<br>Benefits: Comprehensive health, vision, dental, and 401(k) plan benefits<br>Perks: Employee Referral Bonus & Student Tuition Discount<br><br>Key Responsibilities<br> • Curriculum & Advanced Instruction: Plan, supervise, and implement an advanced 8th-grade Language Arts curriculum covering Writing, Literature, Poetry, Grammar, Vocabulary, and Latin & Greek roots.<br> • High School Readiness: Guide students to read, analyze, interpret, and confidently share their unique perspectives on complex texts, ensuring they are fully prepared for high school-level academics.<br> • Literary & Writing Focus: Teach a deeper understanding of literature while cultivating a structured, engaging environment focused on strong writing skills, thematic analysis, author's intent, and historical context.<br> • High School Placement Support: Actively participate in the high school application process, including writing thoughtful, impactful high school recommendations for matriculating students.<br> • Classroom Culture: Maintain an organized, inclusive, and highly engaging classroom environment that encourages respectful discourse and intellectual curiosity.<br> • Collaboration: Collaborate with other middle school faculty and staff members to ensure vertical alignment and a cohesive student experience.<br><br>What We Are Looking For<br>Experience: Teaching experience in Middle School and/or High School Language Arts required.<br>Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in English, Secondary Education, or a related field (Master's degree or teaching credential preferred).<br>Literary & Writing Passion: A genuine appreciation for literature and a strong passion for teaching writing to early adolescents.<br>Subject Expertise: Knowledge of advanced language arts instruction, including vocabulary development, Latin and Greek root analysis, grammar, classic short stories, poetry, and foundational literary works.<br>Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with a knack for connecting with middle schoolers and collaborating effectively within a team environment.<br><br><br>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
