Stratford School, part of Spring Education Group, is a leading independent WASC-accredited private school in California offering courses from preschool through 12th grade with a vision of creating a unique, multi-dimensional educational foundation for children. At Stratford School, we understand every child has his or her own interests and passions and contributes in their own way. Our proven program includes our STEAM-based curriculum that was recognized by the White House as a leader in early childhood STEAM education, and we are also the first California school to earn the Carnegie Science Seal of Excellence for STEM.
We are seeking a dedicated Middle School Mathematics Teacher to join our growing Stratford School community in the San Jose area. This opportunity will support one of our Stratford campuses, where you will play an important role in developing students' mathematical understanding, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
As a math educator, you will build upon students' foundational knowledge, guiding them through increasingly advanced mathematical concepts while fostering a passion for analytical reasoning, intellectual curiosity, and lifelong learning.
We value educators who:
• Design and teach rigorous, engaging courses that challenge students, support diverse learning styles, and maintain high standards for academic excellence.
• Foster an appreciation for mathematical reasoning through conceptual understanding, real-world applications, and interdisciplinary connections.
• Cultivate intellectual curiosity and a growth mindset by encouraging students to think critically, tackle complex problems, and explore mathematical ideas.
• Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to create meaningful learning experiences.
• Utilize innovative teaching methods, including project-based learning, real-world problem-solving, and emerging technologies.
• Communicate proactively with students and families, providing meaningful feedback and fostering strong relationships.
• Engage beyond the classroom by advising students, leading extracurricular activities or math-related clubs, and contributing to the broader school community.
• Demonstrate a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion by fostering an environment where all students feel valued and supported.
• Actively participate in school life, including chaperoning events, serving on committees, and helping develop programs that enrich the student experience.
Our Stratford educators are passionate, engaging, and innovative, and our students are motivated, inquisitive, and eager to grow. If you are excited about the opportunity to shape the future of mathematics education and inspire the next generation of problem-solvers and critical thinkers, we encourage you to apply.
