At Stratford School, we believe learning another language opens doors to new cultures, perspectives, and opportunities. As a Mandarin Elementary Teacher in our afterschool immersion program, you'll create an engaging, supportive classroom where students build confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing Mandarin. Working alongside a collaborative team of educators, you'll help students develop language skills through interactive lessons that make learning meaningful and fun.
What You'll Do
• Develop and deliver engaging Mandarin lessons for elementary students in our afterschool immersion program
• Foster students' vocabulary, listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills through interactive instruction
• Plan, supervise, and implement curriculum that supports language acquisition and student growth
• Collaborate with fellow teachers and campus staff to create an exceptional student experience
• Float between classrooms to provide instructional support as needed
• Monitor student progress and communicate achievements and areas for growth
• Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming classroom environment
• Provide administrative and classroom support to ensure smooth daily operations
What We're Looking For
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
• Two or more years of classroom experience in an elementary school setting
• Fluency in both English and Mandarin
• Passion for working with elementary-aged students and fostering a love of language learning
• Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
• Authorization to work in the United States
