About the Role
As a Kindergarten Teacher at Merryhill School, you will play a critical role in shaping students’ earliest academic experiences, building strong foundations in literacy, math, and social-emotional development. Our program blends structured learning with creativity and exploration, fostering curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.
You will create a warm, engaging classroom environment where students feel supported as they develop independence, problem-solving skills, and positive peer relationships.
You will also:
• Deliver developmentally appropriate instruction in reading, writing, math, and foundational science and social studies concepts
• Establish clear routines and expectations that promote a structured and nurturing classroom environment
• Support students’ social, emotional, and behavioral growth through positive reinforcement and modeling
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and development
• Collaborate with colleagues and school leadership to ensure a cohesive educational experience
What We’re Looking For
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
• Teaching credential preferred; candidates actively pursuing or eligible for an intern credential will be considered
• Kindergarten teaching experience required; candidates without a credential must demonstrate substantial prior classroom experience
• Strong classroom management and instructional skills
• Ability to foster a positive, engaging, and inclusive classroom culture
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to pass state and federal background checks
• Genuine passion for teaching and supporting student growth
