Gym Monitor – Part-Time Weekend Position
Location: 301 De Montfort Avenue, San Francisco, CA
Schedule: Weekend hours between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM
Hours: Approximately 5–7 hours per week (typically 3–9 hours depending on the weekend schedule)
Schedule Commitment: Approximately 27 weekends per year
Rate of Pay: $28 - $32

About the Role
We are looking for a dependable and responsible Gym Monitor to oversee the school gym and athletic facilities during weekend activities. This is a great opportunity for someone looking for consistent part-time weekend work in a school environment.
The Gym Director helps create a safe, welcoming, and organized environment for students, families, coaches, and visitors while supporting the setup and operation of athletic activities and events.
What You’ll Do
• Supervise students, families, coaches, and visitors using the gym and athletic facilities.
• Ensure school policies, facility rules, and safety guidelines are followed.
• Open and close the gym, including checking equipment and securing the facility.
• Assist with setup and breakdown of gym equipment, chairs, tables, and other items.
• Monitor the facility and report damaged, missing, or unsafe equipment.
• Help keep the gym clean, organized, and welcoming.
• Respond appropriately to minor incidents or student concerns and contact school leadership or emergency personnel when needed.
• Maintain awareness of activities throughout the facility and address safety concerns or rule violations.
• Provide friendly and professional assistance to students, families, coaches, staff, and visitors.
• Follow school procedures for student supervision, emergency response, and facility use.
• Represent the school in a professional and positive manner.
What We’re Looking For
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Reliable and comfortable working independently.
• Strong awareness of safety and the ability to respond calmly to unexpected situations.
• Comfortable interacting with children, families, coaches, and school staff.
• Professional, friendly, and dependable communication style.
• Ability to assist with basic facility setup, equipment, and cleanup.
