About the Role
Van Avery Preparatory School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Middle School Golf Coach to lead and develop our student-athletes. The ideal candidate is passionate about golf, values character development, and is committed to fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and skill development in a supportive and competitive environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan and lead engaging golf practices focused on skill development, strategy, and fundamentals
• Teach proper golf techniques, rules, and sportsmanship
• Prepare students for matches and competitions
• Promote teamwork, discipline, and positive sports culture
• Monitor student-athlete academic eligibility and behavior expectations
• Communicate effectively with parents, students, and school administration
• Ensure the safety of all participants during practices and competitions
• Coordinate match schedules, transportation logistics, and equipment needs
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Bachelor’s degree and/or relevant coaching certification preferred
• Prior coaching experience preferred (middle school level a plus)
• Strong knowledge of golf fundamentals, rules, and strategy
• Experience working with middle school students
• Ability to motivate, mentor, and build positive relationships with student-athletes
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
