BASIS Independent Bothell is seeking qualified candidates for an Early Learning Assistant!
The Early Education Assistant role is responsible for supporting an Early Education classroom in all non-instructional areas while learning the BASIS model.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Learns and adheres to campus or licensing requirements including related to safety.
• Assists with lesson material creation.
• Keeps students engaged during class.
• Provides classroom management, as needed.
• Provides input to evaluation of students and their progress throughout the school year.
• Provides student academic support and tutoring, as needed.
• Participates in classroom events, labs and testing.
• Monitors and manage non-instructional time, to include Early and/or Late Bird supervision, and lunch and recess monitor responsibilities, if applicable.
• Coordinates assignments for absent students.
• Assists with school admissions events, as mutually agreed to.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
EXPERIENCE & CREDENTIALS:
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited college or university required.
• 1-2 years’ experience in a school environment or in an instructional capacity preferred.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
ABILITIES:
• Organization - Ability to develop and maintain order when assigned multiple tasks.
• Conflict Resolution – Ability to deescalate high emotion situations and find common ground between conflicting viewpoints.
• Detail Oriented - Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task.
• Communication - Ability to convey information both verbally and in writing and communicate in a manner that is clear, complete, and concise.
• Judgment - Ability to formulate a sound decision using the available information.
• Accountability - Ability to take responsibility for own work, establish trust, and be receptive to feedback.
• Cooperation - Ability to engage in group participation to complete or improve work.
• Efficiency - Ability to prioritize and execute day to day responsibilities to best respond to business demands.
