About the Role
Laurel Springs School is seeking a highly organized and creative Community Engagement Specialist to support the development of a vibrant and connected online school community. This is a fully remote position designed for a professional who is passionate about building meaningful engagement opportunities for students, families, and staff in a virtual environment.
The Community Engagement Specialist plays a key role in planning and executing virtual and in-person events, supporting school programs, and fostering a strong sense of community across Laurel Springs School. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The position is highly collaborative, working closely with the Dean of Community Engagement, faculty, staff, and cross-functional teams to deliver engaging and impactful experiences.

What You’ll Do
• Plan, organize, and execute virtual and in-person events, including clubs, workshops, competitions, field trips, and community meetups
• Manage and maintain the community engagement calendar across annual, monthly, and weekly programming
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define event goals, target audiences, and key messaging
• Support faculty and staff in planning, facilitating, and hosting student clubs and community events
• Coordinate event logistics, including scheduling, communications, invitations, speakers, and technical setup
• Develop and distribute promotional materials such as announcements, newsletters, and digital content to drive engagement and participation
• Partner with subject matter experts to support the development of programs such as yearbook, student publications, and honor societies
• Foster a positive and inclusive virtual community by encouraging participation and interaction before, during, and after events
• Monitor community platforms and feedback channels to ensure a high-quality participant experience
• Collect and analyze event data and engagement metrics to evaluate success and identify areas for improvement
• Support the development of consistent data tracking and reporting processes across community programs
• Represent Laurel Springs School at events, meetings, and conferences as needed
• Collaborate across departments to align community engagement strategies with school priorities
• Maintain organized documentation, shared resources, and program materials
• Participate in school-wide meetings, professional development, and community initiatives
• Uphold confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
What We’re Looking For
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Experience planning and executing virtual and/or in-person events
• Experience with online community engagement and virtual event platforms
• Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Creative mindset with the ability to design engaging and meaningful experiences
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and apply insights to improve outcomes
• Experience in K–12 education or a school-based environment preferred
• Proficiency with digital tools such as G Suite, learning platforms, and communication tools preferred
• Ability to work in a fully remote environment with a high level of accountability and responsiveness
Work Environment and Schedule
• Fully remote position within the United States
• Full-time, year-round role
• Availability required during standard business hours (Eastern Time)
• Evening and occasional weekend availability required for events and community programming
• Periodic travel for in-person events, training, or conferences
Technology Requirements
• Reliable, high-speed internet connection
• Dedicated home workspace suitable for virtual collaboration and meetings
• Experience with virtual event platforms, communication tools, and digital collaboration systems preferred
