About the Role
As a Certified Cheerleading Coach, you will play a key role in building school spirit, leading cheerleading practices, and guiding students through performances and competitions. You will mentor student-athletes in a positive, inclusive, and energetic environment while promoting discipline, teamwork, and pride in school representation.
You will also…
• Lead practices and coach students in cheerleading skills, choreography, and stunts
• Prepare students for performances at games, school events, and competitions
• Teach proper safety techniques and ensure adherence to all safety protocols
• Foster school spirit and promote a positive, inclusive team culture
• Manage practice schedules, uniforms, and team logistics
• Travel with the team to events or games, as needed
• Maintain open, professional communication with families, students, and staff
• Serve as a role model in sportsmanship, character, and leadership
What We Are Looking For
• NIAA Cheer Coach Certification (required)
• Must meet the requirements of the Nevada Coaching Education Program (NCEP) for all head, assistant, and volunteer coaches
• CPR and First Aid certification (required)
• Previous experience coaching cheerleading, gymnastics, or dance
• High school diploma required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills
Commitment to safety, professionalism, and student development
• Ability to pass both state and federal background checks
