Make a Meaningful Impact

The Preschool Principal leads the school administration team and is responsible for the delivery of instructional programs and the overall operation of the campus. This includes staff leadership, enrollment growth, family engagement, financial performance, marketing execution, licensing compliance, and facility oversight.

The Principal establishes a clear vision for learning, ensures a safe and well-managed environment, and partners closely with families and staff to deliver a high quality preschool experience aligned with the standards of their respective school brand and Spring Education Group.

Key Responsibilities

School Leadership & Culture

  • Establish and communicate a clear vision for the school.
  • Recruit, lead, coach, and develop educators and support staff.
  • Foster employee engagement, accountability, and retention.
  • Ensure consistent implementation of approved curriculum and instructional practices.
  • Model and reinforce a culture of care, collaboration, and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

Operations, Safety, & Compliance

  • Oversee daily campus operations to maintain a safe, clean, and organized learning environment.
  • Maintain rigorous compliance with applicable state licensing requirements, accreditation standards, and applicable laws.
  • Ensure adherence to Spring Education Group policies and procedures.
  • Oversee facility operations and emergency preparedness.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels and ratios based on enrollment and operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

Enrollment, Marketing, & Community Engagement

  • Drive enrollment and retention through strong family relationships and service excellence
  • Partner with prospective families throughout the enrollment process
  • Execute local, grassroots marketing strategies in partnership with regional teams
  • Serve as a visible, responsive leader within the school and surrounding community

Key Responsibilities

Financial & Business Management

  • Manage campus budgets and profit-and-loss performance
  • Monitor enrollment trends, staffing ratios, labor expenses, and operational metrics
  • Use data to guide staffing, enrollment, and operational decisions
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen campus performance and support sustainable growth

What We're Looking For

Successful internal candidates must demonstrate the experience, professional judgment, and operational readiness necessary to lead a licensed preschool campus.

Required and preferred qualifications include:

  • At least 15 semester units in the specific Early Childhood Education courses required to satisfy applicable California Director qualification standards
  • Full compliance with all state applicable qualification requirements before the first day in the Principal position (please see job descriptions for state specific requirements)
  • At least three years of early childhood education experience, including experience as a Lead Teacher, ECE Office Administrator, Assistant Principal, or in another position involving comparable leadership responsibilities
  • Proficiency in state applicable licensing requirements and compliance practices
  • Demonstrated ability to lead staff, navigate challenging situations, and maintain a safe and compliant school environment
  • Strong knowledge of preschool curriculum, classroom operations, staffing requirements, and family engagement
  • A record of strong performance and alignment with Spring Education Group values
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
  • Enrollment, sales, marketing, or business-management experience preferred
  • Willingness to relocate to either the Sacramento market or Cary market, if not currently local

Compensation & Relocation Support

The selected candidate will receive competitive compensation commensurate with experience and qualifications.

For an eligible candidate relocating to either market, this opportunity includes a relocation incentive package of up to $5,000:

  • A $2,500 relocation bonus
  • A guaranteed $2,500 first-quarter Principal bonus

Following the guaranteed first-quarter bonus, the Principal will be eligible for the position's ongoing quarterly incentive program, with an annual target of up to $8,000 tied to established performance goals.
