• Plan, develop, and implement engaging STEM lessons and hands-on activities for elementary students.
• Introduce and reinforce foundational concepts in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through age-appropriate instruction.
• Design project-based learning experiences that encourage creativity, experimentation, collaboration, and problem-solving.
• Incorporate coding, robotics, engineering design challenges, digital tools, and scientific inquiry where appropriate.
• Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that encourages students to ask questions, take risks, and learn from mistakes.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners and support a range of skill levels and learning styles.
• Monitor and assess student progress through observation, projects, informal assessments, and feedback.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and specialists to connect STEM instruction with broader curriculum goals.
• Maintain and organize STEM materials, technology tools, lab supplies, and classroom resources.
• Communicate regularly with families about student learning, classroom experiences, and special projects.
• Participate in school events, professional development, and team planning.
• Promote Park Maitland School’s mission and values through positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
What We Are Looking For
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Education, Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Valid teaching certification preferred.
• Previous experience teaching STEM, science, technology, robotics, coding, engineering, or mathematics to elementary students preferred.
• Strong understanding of inquiry-based, project-based, and hands-on instructional practices.
• Comfort using educational technology, digital learning tools, and STEM-related materials.
• Enthusiasm for helping young learners explore, create, problem-solve, and think critically.
• Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and families.
• Commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning environment for all students.
