About the Role
As a Toddler Teacher at Merryhill School, you’ll be the heart of the classroom—guiding our youngest learners through some of their most important developmental milestones. Toddlers are busy, curious, and full of wonder, and your job is to create a safe, nurturing, and joyful environment where they can explore the world around them with confidence.
You will:
• Plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate curriculum focused on sensory exploration, early language, gross and fine motor development, and social-emotional growth
• Foster a consistent and comforting daily routine that supports toddlers’ need for structure and security
• Encourage independence through gentle guidance, responsive caregiving, and purposeful play
• Collaborate with fellow early childhood educators and school leadership to ensure consistency in care and developmentally appropriate practices
• Communicate daily with parents through verbal updates, digital reports, and informal check-ins
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment aligned with licensing standards and school policies
What We’re Looking For
• 12 semester (or 18 quarter) units in Early Childhood Education, including coursework in child development, curriculum, and family/community
• Experience working with toddlers in a licensed child care setting preferred
• Deep patience, nurturing instincts, and a genuine love for toddlers and early learning
• Strong communication skills and an ability to connect with both children and families
• Reliable, collaborative, and committed to high-quality care and education
