About the Role
As an Elementary Assistant Teacher at Merryhill School, you will support a positive, engaging, and academically focused elementary classroom environment. Working closely with lead teachers, you will help facilitate daily instruction, reinforce classroom routines, support student learning, and contribute to a warm and structured school community. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with elementary-aged students and is interested in growing their career in education.
You will also:
• Support students’ academic, social, and emotional development through positive interactions and classroom engagement
• Assist lead teachers with small-group instruction, classroom activities, projects, and daily routines
• Help reinforce classroom expectations, school procedures, and positive student behavior
• Collaborate with teachers and school staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment
• Communicate professionally with students, families, and colleagues when needed
• Maintain an organized, safe, and engaging classroom space that supports student success
What We’re Looking For
• Associate’s Degree or coursework in Education required. Bachelor's degree preferred
• Prior experience working with elementary-aged children in a school, childcare, camp, tutoring, or youth-focused setting
• Strong communication, organization, and classroom support skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team and follow lead teacher direction
• A patient, professional, and student-centered approach to supporting children
• Commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
• Must meet all state licensing and background clearance requirements
