About the Role
Spring Education Group is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead key general ledger and close activities in support of accurate and timely financial reporting across a multi-site organization. This role is responsible for overseeing core accounting functions including revenue recognition, lease accounting, payroll accounting, and cash management, while ensuring strong internal controls and process consistency.
As a leader within the Accounting team, you will manage month-end close, partner cross-functionally to resolve discrepancies, and drive continuous process improvements. This role requires strong technical accounting expertise, leadership capability, and experience operating in a multi-unit environment.
**This is a hybrid position requiring three days per week in the office and two days remote**
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Operations & Financial Close
• Lead the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
• Prepare and review journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
• Oversee accounting processes related to revenue, lease, payroll, and cash
• Analyze account fluctuations and variances, providing insights to leadership
• Partner with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and improve financial accuracy
Financial Reporting & Analysis
• Support internal reporting through preparation of analyses and variance explanations
• Assist with budgeting processes in assigned areas
• Prepare reports and presentations to support business decision-making
Process Improvement & Internal Controls
• Leverage AI-driven tools and automation to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of accounting processes and reporting
• Maintain and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation and system enhancements
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
Audit & Compliance
• Support external audit processes by preparing documentation and responding to auditor requests
• Partner with third-party tax providers to ensure timely and accurate filings
Team Leadership & Development
• Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff, fostering a high-performance team environment
• Provide ongoing feedback, coaching, and support to drive team effectiveness
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Active CPA license required
• 5–7+ years of relevant accounting experience
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting processes
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Preferred Qualifications
• Public accounting audit experience
• Experience in a multi-unit or multi-location environment
• Experience with NetSuite, Blackline, or similar ERP systems
