Job Description: Creative Content Writer, Blogger, and Editor

Spring Education Group, the largest Preschool through -12th-grade private school operator in the United States, is seeking a creative writer with a keen eye for detail and an ability to thrive under deadlines.  This position will be responsible for constructing digital copy about the people within Spring Education Group, which will include researching and crafting team member stories for both internal and external audiences.   This role is all about supporting our culture of care and reinforcing the company’s reputation by sharing stories about our people, our schools, our world-class education, and our community outreach programs.   

Working closely with the Vice Chairwoman and key senior executives of Spring Education Group, this person will be responsible for creating a monthly, people-focused, publication to further our mission of growing schools by growing our people first, as well as spearheading other projects that promote the reputation of the company.  Creative juices, solid writing, great interviewing skills, and solid marketing background are required.

Key Responsibilities and Leadership Attributes

  • Collaborate with thought leaders, school leadership, teaching staff, home office, and marketing teams to create and share great stories and testimonials from the schools and home offices
  • Help our teams identify and create unique content that evokes emotion with storytelling Interview our people, including our students, and research the best of the best in the field
  • Curate and facilitate editorial features, spotlights, and company bright spots
  • Participate with cross-functional teams for brainstorming ideas for content
  • Use various media to deliver content digitally
  • Model and nurture Spring Education Group’s mission, vision, values, and culture through each publication
  • Lead with a spirit of continuous improvement and collaboration. Exude curiosity and joyful learning
  • Build a culture of rapport and inclusion; create effective working relationships between campuses and departmental teams to achieve results
  • Humble in spirit and willing to serve others

 

Success Measures

  • A consistent high-quality publication that is read across all audiences as measured by click rates, surveys, feedback, and improved employee/student engagement  

 

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of related experience in professional journalism and/or creative writing
  • Adept at self-publishing creative platforms with the ability to turn content into design-ready deliverables (e.g. Adobe Illustrator, PowerPoint, Keynote, SMORE)
  • Strong social media skills and adept at various modes of communication
  • Entrepreneurial in spirit with a roll-up-your-sleeves mentality
  • Impeccable attention to detail, including exceptional writing, editing and proofing skills
  • Ability to connect easily with people to identify and communicate stories
  • Ability to produce high-quality work and function independently
  • Self-motivated with a can-do positive spirit
  • Organizational skills and ability to work under a deadline
