JOB TITLE:Student Engagement Manager

The Student Engagement Manager is responsible for supporting school leadership in and by leading the social community and student engagement initiatives. The school’s social community is comprised of an online social network, K-12 clubs, field trips, themed days and weeks, and annual events held across the calendar year.
● Promote a positive school culture supporting the unique needs and educational environment of online/distance students.
● Use technology to collect and analyze data, interpret results, and communicate findings.
● Keep abreast of domestic and international student engagement opportunities and develop new initiatives for the social community.
● Create and manage a social community calendar (yearly and monthly).
● Coordinate with vendors.
● Collaborate with colleagues across departments in support of social community opportunities and opportunities that support social engagement within academic areas.
● Supervise and lead live and prerecorded events and activities.
● Promote student involvement and leadership, and faculty and staff behind-the-scenes facilitation.
● Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with faculty and staff, and students and parents through communications via email, telephone, and other school approved virtual means.
● Create and collaborate on frequent meaningful communications promoting Laurel Springs social community, events, and activities.
● Create and facilitate parent-community related groups, events, and activities.
● Provide training and support for faculty and staff about the social community and for those involved in facilitating clubs, events, and activities.
● Manage and supervise reporting full-time and part-time staff.
● Participate in virtual open houses, onboardings, and other opportunities supporting the school.
● Represent the school on trips, in meetings, and at conferences.
● Assist with other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Experience & Credentials:
● Bachelor’s degree in Education required. Master’s degree preferred.
● 5+ years of experience teaching or working in a school setting.
● 4+ years of experience working for Laurel Springs School preferred.
● Experience leading large events and activities, with virtual experience preferred.
● Possess basic math skills.
● Analytical, interpretive, evaluative, and constructive thinking skills required.
Communication & Interpersonal Skills:
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
● Creative problem solving.
● Highly organized.
● Frequent speaking and listening (over 75%). Must be proficient in speaking, writing and reading English to include reading and comprehending policies and procedures, and being able to correspond in English.
● Frequent repetitive or fine hand movements (over 75%).
● Frequent use of computer keyboard and mouse (over 75%).
● Occasional walking and standing (I0-25%).
