The Benefits Specialist position plays a vital role in supporting the Benefits team. In this role, you will take on the day-to-day administration of the company's comprehensive benefits package, which includes health plans (medical and dental), welfare plans (life, STD, LTD), the 401(k) Plan, leave of absence, Accommodations and Workers Compensation administration.
Your passion for assisting individuals in maximizing the value of their benefits will be crucial. The primary objective is to ensure an exceptional employee experience while efficiently managing and administering these programs. This role requires a keen attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to enhancing the overall well-being of our employees through comprehensive benefits management.
What You'll Be Doing- Day to day administration of employee Leave of Absence, Accommodations and Workers Compensation including maintenance of case tracking.
- Responsible for managing life cycle of a leave case from request to return to work including Benefit premiums collection via direct bill & communication.
- Administering leave programs and policies in accordance with the applicable federal and state employment laws (FMLA, ADA, PDA, etc.) via third party administrator.
- Manage the benefits, leave and workers compensation email inbox, respond to inquiries, and resolve escalated issues.
- Conduct benefits, leave and workers compensation education sessions as needed.
- Develop an understanding of various benefits laws including ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, Section 132, and ERISA for 401(k).
- 401(k) plan administration for eligibility and processing of contributions, employer matching, and funding, etc.
- Understanding of 401(k) Retirement program to perform audits and compliance submissions.
- ACA Administration
- Understanding of benefits programs, including health insurance, dental, vision, life insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and other voluntary benefits to work with carriers and vendors to assist in resolving employee questions
- Understanding of benefit enrollments, life events and COBRA administration within Dayforce system to review, reconcile, & process monthly vendor billing and to perform audits.
- Assists payroll with the coordination of employee deductions and audits.
- Assist with annual Open Enrollment including configuration, testing and carrier feeds.
- Assist with special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Skills and AbilitiesEducation: Bachelor's or Associates Degree from a regionally accredited college or university preferred.
Experience: 3-4 years of Benefits Administration experience
Computer Skills: Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel for data analysis and auditing purposes. Ability to learn new software systems to manage benefits on benefit system. Dayforce experience is a plus.
