About the RoleBus drivers at The Honor Roll School play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our students while transporting them to and from field trips, sporting events, and other off-campus activities. While most trips occur during the school day, away games for sports teams may require evening hours. This position offers the opportunity to work with a variety of students, and it may transition to a full-time role based on school needs.
Responsibilities- Safely transport students to and from field trips, sporting events, and other school-related activities.
- Ensure student safety and maintain appropriate behavior on the bus.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the school bus to ensure safety standards are met.
- Adhere to scheduled routes and follow all traffic regulations.
- Collaborate with school staff to coordinate schedules for trips and events.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure smooth transportation operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned related to student transportation.
Qualifications- Must have a current Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Previous experience driving a school bus is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to pass both state and federal background checks.
- Work Environment & Additional Requirements
- Most trips occur during the school day, but some events, such as away games, may require evening hours.
- Ability to manage and interact positively with a wide range of students from K-8.
