About the Role

As a Middle/ High School History Teacher, you will have the opportunity to work with our motivated students to continue to build upon the knowledge foundation laid in the elementary years and delve deeper into each subject. Sagemont Preparatory takes a transformative approach to education through a focus on intellectual exploration and innovation, while our curriculum encourages analytical thinking and cultivates individual creativity. Position Responsibilities:
  • Implement instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences.
  • Provide a positive environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process.
  • Facilitate activities and projects that incorporate communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking.
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis.
  • Assist in assessing changing curricular needs and offers plans for improvement.
  • Collaborate with peers to enhance the instructional environment.
  • Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and the community.
  • Participate in training and professional development
  • Dedicated to ensuring curriculum and assessments are rigorous and meaningful, with tailored formative assessments to provide frequent feedback on student comprehension.
  • Ability to monitor student progress and report information in a timely manner
  • Knowledge of encouraging students to be global citizens and active members of our local communities, linguistically and culturally.
  • Desire to continue professional development
  • Experience teaching Advanced Placement courses is preferred
  • Create an environment that fosters a growth mindset.
  • Strong proficiency in utilizing educational technology and Google Suite to enhance the learning environment
  • An ability and enthusiasm for promoting the school and its mission to a broad and diverse group of people.
  • Excellent work ethic, positive attitude, flexibility, and willingness to grow as an educator.
