The Paralegal/Contract Specialist will support the Shared Services Legal team in the development, harmonization, and management of the enterprise-wide Contracts process, in close partnership with business operations teams. In addition, this role will support the Legal team in responding to school leadership questions and work on other legal projects. This role will assist in the drafting and tracking of medium-to-high complexity contracts and route to appropriate attorneys for review, as well as facilitate issue resolution. This role will help manage the Contracts process through final execution, including drafting, reviewing, redlining, finalizing agreements, and maintaining data in the centralized system. In this role, you will...
  • Provide day-to-day support to the legal team and internal clients in connection with contracts review/approval, policy guidance, training and other legal matters
  • Leverage enterprise legal management (ELM) systems to efficiently manage the receipt, review, and prioritization of contract requests (and to provide broad legal support)
  • Support the entire contract lifecycle process including the independent drafting, reviewing, redlining and finalizing of various commercial/vendor agreements.
  • Assist in ensuring ELM systems appropriately maintained while actively seeking out solutions to any existing inefficiencies or user issues
  • Recommend new approaches to effect on-going continual improvements to templates, policies, procedures, and documentation

Requirements
  • Paralegal degree/certification or equivalent work experience
  • General knowledge of contract structure and ability to identify specific provisions contained within contract
  • Excellent attention to detail, highly organized and task-oriented with the ability to manage and prioritize a substantial workload
  • Strong drafting, redlining, writing, and communication skills
  • Proficient with ELM software/solutions (e.g. Agiloft, Legal Tracker, LawVu, etc.) and ability to support back-end and user experience
  • Creative thinker who is keen to build scalable processes
  • A high degree of personal integrity
  • Sense of humor, strong work ethic, and positive attitude
