  • Assist with the development of classroom resources that support students and their learning.
  • Partner to create & cultivate a responsive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with school teams to positively impact students' outcomes.
  • Demonstrate self-awareness, reflect on practice with self and others, and act on feedback.

Responsibilities:

Assistant Teachers in Early Childhood classrooms:

Supervise students and assist teachers in the classroom

Cover teacher breaks including lunchtime and recess when ratios allow

Engage students in structured activities as needed for recess

Inform the Director of disciplinary situations involving students

Ensure students follow all health and safety guidelines both indoors and outdoors

Pottying/diaper changing

Communicate regularly with lead teachers and administrators

Disinfects mats, toys and other classroom materials weekly or as required

Serves food and monitors children observing food intake and needs of children

Attend orientations, staff meetings, and training sessions as assigned

Other related duties as needed

Experience & Credentials:

High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required
Must be 18 years of age or older
Currently enrolled or willing to complete Early Childhood Education units within one year of employment
Two-year degree in Early Childhood Education preferred
Meets minimum preparation and experience required for certification as an Early Childhood Education Teacher
Complies with all state education and licensing standards, and maintains validation of credentials for the position (i.e. professional development)
Previous experience as an Early Childhood Education Teacher, in a licensed preschool or early development center.

Wage range $20.00-22.00
