The Sagemont School is now hiring a Full-Time School Bus Driver. Our Bus Drivers are an integral part of the communities we serve. They are committed to safety, customer service and have genuine, caring attitudes for children.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Transport students and other authorized persons safely to and from school; on field, extracurricular, special and/or activity trips as authorized by immediate supervisor.

Operate school buses under all types of weather conditions.

Maintain control of student passengers as related to safety.

Report unsafe acts or conditions which require the attention of any person other than the driver.

Complete forms, records and reports as required by law and School policies.

Operate school bus in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida and policies promulgated by the Head of School.

Perform required operational and safety inspections of the school bus and all related equipment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED). Each school bus operator shall have a minimum of five years of licensed driving experience (Class E License) or hold a Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A or B CDL with a Passenger endorsement. Experience working with students and communication with parents and school official's Good attendance record and verbal communication skills. Must be at least 21 years of age and have a flexible work schedule.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. In general, this position requires an individual to frequently walk, stand, sit, squat, stoop, reach, kneel, rise from the floor, twist, listen, read, write, and speak the English language. In addition, this position often requires an individual to carry, lift, use repetitive or fine hand movements, and occasionally push, pull, or bend.
