Position: Preschool Office Administrator
Employment Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Duration: Year-Round (12 months), Monday-Friday
Location: Wheaton, IL

As a Preschool Office Administrator, you will assist the assistant preschool principal and school principal with day-to-day operations of the school, including, submitting purchasing requests, maintaining staff and student files, providing tours to prospective families and children, providing in classroom support to teachers, providing curriculum support to teachers, and other duties as assigned.

The Essentials

  • You must be 21 years of age.
  • You must have a High School Diploma or Equivalency Certificate (GED).
  • 3+ years of experience in a school leadership position (Principal, Assistant Principal, Team Leader, etc.). 1 year of previous teaching experience in a preschool setting.
  • Knowledge of state education and licensing standards and maintains validation of credentials for the position (i.e. professional development).
  • Broad knowledge of instructional programs, extracurricular activities, methods to ensure a safe and orderly climate, 
  • Previous responsibility for building maintenance, program evaluation, employee engagement and management, office operations, and emergency procedures

Plus, one of the following

  • Sixty semester hours of credit from an accredited college or university with 18 semester hours in courses related directly to childcare and/or child development from birth to age 6; OR
  • Two years of child development experience in a nursery
    school, kindergarten, or licensed day care center, and 30 semester hours of college credits with 10 semester hours in courses related directly to childcare and/or child development, and proof of enrollment in an accredited college or university until 2 years of college credit have been achieved; OR
  • Completion of a credentialing program approved in accordance with Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, and completion of 12 semester hours in courses related to childcare and/or child development from birth to age 6 at an accredited college or university, and 2 years child development experience in a nursery school, kindergarten or licensed day care center
